I cannot urge you enough – if you have the opportunity to go to one of Ana Brandt’s workshops, YOU MUST GO! I can honestly say it was life-changing. I arrived feeling inferior and self-conscious, and by the time I left I felt very excited and thrilled by all the possibilities out there that I wasn’t seeing. Ana literally took us by the hand and showed us the hundreds of possibilities under our very noses and exactly how to achieve those awesome images we all want. Yes it’s a lot of work but we are really kidding ourselves if we think it shouldn’t be. I had been thinking that I must not be very good if I struggle so much with setups, lighting, posing, working with the subjects, etc. etc. But one of the main things I took away is that that is all part of the process! Even pros like Ana have the very same struggles I have – you just persevere and work through it, let it flow and find the solutions. I watched her interact with the models – total strangers to her just like they would be to me – and she showed us how to gradually work with them and take your time, let it all fall into place. There is no magical secret – we can all do it! Just having the opportunity to spend three days with Ana and watch how she works was one of the best gifts I have been given.
